Hello, Iām Katherine, an architectural artist specialising in hand-drawn house portraits.
I have been creating bespoke architectural illustrations since 2009, working with homeowners, architects and collectors to capture the character, proportion and atmosphere of meaningful places.
Each commission begins with a visit to the property, where I take reference photographs and make initial sketches. I also take time to understand how the house is lived in ā the spaces people are drawn to, the views they value, and the architectural details that matter most to them. This helps shape the final composition in a way that feels personal and true to the home.
The artwork is then carefully developed in my studio, allowing time for considered composition, accurate detail and a refined finish.
My work combines strong architectural linework with a sensitivity to light, material and setting, capturing not only how a building looks, but how it feels to live in. Many clients commission portraits to mark a moment in time: a family home, a renovation, or a place filled with memory. I often create paired pieces showing both the formal architectural front and the more private garden aspect of a home.
All pieces are created by hand using professional materials, including Arches 300gsm watercolour paper and lightfast inks and pigments, and are supplied mounted and ready to frame.
Each artwork is designed to be timeless, something to be kept, shared and enjoyed for years to come.
